Our Staff

The management team at Highcare Support Services Ltd comes with a wide range of experience and skills in working with adults with learning disabilities and mental health. The team has collective skills derived from many years of front-line health and social care with adults and children with disabilities, managing organisation for adults with disabilities to a high level of standard and many other transferable skills.

The staff allocated to support you will be chosen to match their skills with your needs and to minimize travel distances to support good time attendance. All the staff employed have undergone enhanced DBS checks for adults and children.

Through a robust recruitment and selection policy we undertake to employ only those persons we believe have the requisite skills, training, prior work experience and aptitude which will complement the quality of care we deliver. All staff are provided with an induction training and further ongoing training, supervision and appraisal as needed.

In addition to the direct support staff the Registered Manager may be included within the staffing levels described. Staffing levels may be changed at the discretion of the Manager if need be.

New employees are inducted to National Training Organisation standards within 12 weeks of employment. We manage and train our employees with the aim that all our carers are trained to achieve an RQF Diploma.

Staff Training and Development:

All employees undergo continuous mandatory and service specific training to ensure we continue to deliver a high-quality service. All new employees receive full mandatory training via the Company programme and outside resourced training.

All members of staff have achieved, or are working towards, an appropriate accredit qualification/s. All other employees receive the training appropriate to their work. All employees receive annual training in health and safety matters such as moving and handling, fire awareness and procedures, adult protection issues, and a range of other matters.

Training needs are reviewed regularly during monthly supervision sessions, and annual appraisals reflect on both the individual learning and development goals and the needs of the service.
